Following the success of the 2011 release, we have a larger version of the much loved Winnipeg, a 36cm tall Mohair Steiff Grizzly Bear reminding us how a certain honey loving bear got his name. Winnipeg has movable arms with a turnable head and is sewn from luxurious mohair with airbrush shading details. This historical piece is a UK, Ireland and North American Exclusive of 1,500.
Canadian Army Lieutenant Harry Colebourn bought a bear cub for $20 from a hunter. Named her Winnipeg, and smuggled her to England where "winnie became his militia's mascot. He eventually donated her to the London Zoo where she became a favorite of Christopher Robin Milne, the son of a local playwright. You know the rest.
