The Bearhouse collection this year has been inspired by Charlie’s many visits to zoos and a selection of wild and wacky characters have been introduced. Back in 2015 we launched our first ever gorilla who was called Dundas and our collectors adored him so much he soon became a firm favourite but he is due to retire this year so it seemed like the perfect time to create Congo a silver backed gorilla. William is thrilled with this introduction as it is normally the ape houses that are first on the list whenever they visit a new zoo. Congo has been created using a fusion of different plushes in a selection of greys and browns as Charlie felt this was exactly what they needed to try and recreate this wonderful animal. There are lots of sculpturing and contouring techniques as well that we have used to create the right look and feel for the body shape for Congo especially on his little face.
